The level of dedication Panda Express shows to its charitable partners is beyond compare and this was once again on display in Bakersfield, California earlier this month.

Andrew Cherng, co-founder of Panda Restaurant Group and Panda Cares, took time to visit with Miracle Child Kayson Hanly. Kayson is one of the 2017 Miracles on 34th Street Ambassadors at Lauren Small Children’s Center at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital and got the opportunity to meet Cherng, the restaurant’s general manager Ana Avila and the rest of her team at Panda #1059.

Kayson has Type 1 diabetes and holds the distinction of being the youngest local diabetic patient to be treated in the PICU at the Lauren Small Children’s Center where the hospital will soon be opening Kern County’s first and only Pediatric Diabetes Clinic to help children like Kayson.

Panda Express guests and associates at more than 1,800 locations raised $10.4 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in 2016, bringing the total contribution to 123 network hospitals to $22 million.
