CMN Day of Giving 2020
There’s no doubt that 2020 has been a challenging year. But even in the face of a pandemic, job losses, and the loss of normalcy, the giving spirit of the golden empire could not be dimmed!
Wednesday, it shined bright as community members poured out their hearts and opened their wallets for our annual CMN Day of Giving.
The yearly fundraiser for our Children’s Miracle Network program benefits our Lauren Small Children’s Center at Memorial Hospital – Bakersfield. A sincere thank you to KGET – TV 17 Bakersfield for opening their “home” to us to host and for partnering with Telemundo Valle Central, 101.5 KGFM, and 96.9 La Caliente, to enhance medical care for sick and injured kids here in Kern County. They all worked their tails off this year to adapt to the covid restrictions and still make the event a huge success…it was ALL HANDS ON DECK…THANK YOU ALL!!!
Donations of all sizes rolled in throughout the day and partners, Chevron Central California and Valley Strong Credit Union even matched donations. Thank you also to INSURICA/Walter Mortensen Insurance for your unwavering support year after year!
As of the last update, the total has reached $136,011…and climbing…100% staying local to ensure that sick or injured kids like this year’s CMN Ambassadors Adrian Arjon Jr., Baby Jay Castillo, and the Nation Triplets (Madison, Brooklyn, and Brayden) have access to the medical care that they deserve right here at home!
A HUGE thank you to everyone who volunteered and to everyone who opened their hearts to give! We are incredibly grateful for your generosity. It means so much…especially this year because KIDS CAN’T WAIT!!!
