CMN Makes an Impact in Bakersfield

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals is a network of 170 hospitals across the United States and Canada which helps member hospitals raise funds and awareness for children’s health care services. Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Foundation has been a member since 1991.

In recent years, funds raised through the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals program at Dignity Health’s Bakersfield Memorial Hospital have provided equipment for the hospitals Lauren Small Children’s Center, the Robert A. Grimm Children’s Pavilion for Emergency Services, and the S. A. Camp Companies Burn Unit. The lifesaving equipment includes monitors, ventilators for the NICU, developmental tools, fetal monitors, ultrasound equipment, pediatric and baby manikins for education and training, lab equipment, and other important tools.

“Our Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals manager, Robin Woodward, has done a remarkable job growing the program in the three years she has been in this position,” says Caryl Schweitzer, director of development at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital Foundation.

In April, the foundation held an awards luncheon honoring local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising partners and volunteers. The event was attended by John Lauck, CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
